Project Description – New build 24 houses and an assisted care unit.
Role – As appointed Main Contractor we undertook to manage and co-ordinate the construction works using both sub-contractors and our own direct labour.
The works involved the construction of 24 semi-detached timber framed houses and a curved assisted residential block for 6 residents and associated staff.
Ground conditions proved to be the biggest challenge on the project with all buildings required to be supported on vibro-compacted stone piles. Ground contamination was discovered during the works which halted progress, however, due to working closely with the client and design team we were able to minimise project disruption and additional costs.
New roads and sewers were required along with the incorporation of a new pumping station and storm water retention pond to serve the site.
A new play park was also built for the residents.
